The MIMESIS team just got three posters accepted at the SIGGRAPH conference! My work focused on the use of simulation and augmented reality in the context of cryoablation.
SIGGRAPH 2015 took place in Los Angeles from August 9 to 13.
Within the Inria campaign entitled “Graine d’Entrepreneur“, my StartUp project OHS was honored at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance ! Please do not hesitate to check it out and give me some feedback !

For more than one month, I will be visiting the Harvard Biorobotic Laboratory led by Pr. Robert Howe. This experience will be the opportunity to start new collaborations with this prestigious research laboratory. I should be back in Strasbourg early in July. Cheers !
In March 2015, I proposed an innovative project of startup: OHS standing for Open Health Simulation. This project was in the national competition “I-LAB Emergence”. The OHS project has been selected and awarded ! A ceremony will take place in Paris July, 1st.
The OHS project aims at making medical simulators and planning systems more accessible for both medical students and clinicians. In Europe, the medical curriculum does still not include a step of training using medical simulation, though medical students could learn and rehearse clinical gestures virtually before manipulating patients. With our simulation platform SOFA, the development of hyper-realistic will be significantly accelerated, thus making our products cost-competitive.
We knew that my work entitled “Surgery Training, Planning and Guidance using the SOFA Framework” was selected for the Dirk Bartz Medical Prize for Visual Computing in Medicine 2015 (news of the 25/02/2015). After the selection, the board awarded the SOFA platform with the 1st Prize ! Great news ! Thanks again to all the SOFA contributors !
I just created a new twitter account #mimesis_team for the Mimesis team (Inria) in which I am currently working. If you want to follow our news and scienfitic results, do not hesitate to click the little button !
I just got a poster accepted at the SIGGRAPH conference ! This poster was entitled “Augmented Reality for Cryoablation Procedures”. The SIGGRAPH conference takes place in Los Angeles from the 9. until the 13. August 2015. Meet you there !
Previously known as the Shacra team, the Mimesis team is a research group focusing on the use of real-time simulation for per-operative guidance. The underlying objectives include patient-specific biophysical modeling, dedicated numerical techniques for real-time computation, dynamic topological representations, data assimilation and image-driven simulation.
With the creation of this new team in Strasbourg, we needed a new website ! It is now available !
Check it out !

The MIMESIS team in Strasbourg took the initiative to re-design the website of the SOFA framework:
All comments and feedback are welcome, so do not hesitate to share your experience. I hope you will like it. This new website includes now a forum, allowing to post any question and access previous questions asked by other users. The design of the website also highlights the latest contributions made using SOFA.
Every year, Inria welcomes the incoming employees at the occasion of the “Séminaire Nouveau Arrivants”. I participated in this event as invited speaker. I presented the collaboration between engineers and researchers with the help of Bruno Carrez (SED Inria).
